Solar photovoltaic (PV) technology uses solar panels, comprised of photovoltaic cells, to convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity through the photovoltaic effect. An inverter then transforms DC into alternating current (AC) suitable for powering appliances. Excess energy can be fed back into the grid, and some systems include optional battery storage for surplus energy during low sunlight periods. This efficient process directly harnesses sunlight to generate clean electricity, reducing dependence on traditional fossil fuels.
To get a quote we will do a site visit to design a system to specific your property. We will ask about how much electricity you use and do a survey to measure the available roof space and exisiting electrical supply.
The quotation will detail the full system costs, energy production projections and return on investment projections. You can get in touch by E-mail or phone to arrange an appointment at your convenience.
We use scaffolding on all our jobs and this will be put up first. The rest of the job will take approx. 2 days to install the panels and mounting system on the roof and the inverter / batteries in . When our jobs are complete you will be provided with a handover pack that contains
We are an MCS member, which means that our systems of work and installations have been checked and audited to MCS standards. Having an MCS certificate means you can apply to get paid for electricity that you export via the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG). HIES provides deposit protection and insurance-backed warranties for total peace of mind. Being a NAPIT certificated scheme member means we have demonstrated our electrical competence, we hold the necessary insurances and have the right processes and procedures to assure compliance.
As a guide - fully installed prices start at around £3.5k for a basic 2 kw system and around £8k for a 4 kw system with 5 kWh battery storage. There is no fixed cost to each instalaltion as every job is unique.
At present no VAT is applicable to Solar PV installations and any associated works.
